Mid-February brought an urgent shift in our work when Cyclone Gezani devastated Toamasina, Madagascar, affecting 250,000 people and highlighting the scale of their hardship. Tens of thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed. There is no electricity or running water. The only facility with a functioning surgery theater is a small private hospital where our friend, Dr. Fabruce, is currently the head surgeon. He and his small team are swamped with patients. The situation is desperate.
We have launched a disaster relief fund to provide for several pressing needs.
Project CURE Disaster Response Container: Raised $11,930 of $30,580 needed.
Fuel money for Bethany Hospital Generator: $150/day, 31 days: Raised: $500 of $4650 needed.
Water filtration system for Bethany Hospital: $1000 needed
100% of donations to this fund will go directly to recovery efforts.
